How we are funded

We are responsible for raising the money locally to fund our work from appeals, donations, events, legacies and sales from our charity shop in Burnley.

We receive no government funding and rely on your donations to continue our work rehabilitating and rehoming rescued animals.

What we do

The Branch operates an animal centre just outside Accrington (21 kennels & 6 rabbit pens) where it cares for animals rescued by the RSPCA.

Our main focus is to support the RSPCA inspectorate with the rehabilitation of cats, dogs and rabbits that are abused, neglected and abandoned which have had to be taken into RSPCA Branch care.

The work of the animal centre is supplemented by a strong volunteer foster network (cats & dogs).

The staff and volunteer team are dedicated to giving animals another chance at life and spend hours working with even the most traumatised of animals to establish a positive bond with humans and give an animal a new start in life.

Rebuilding that trust can take months of effort by the team but it is worth it when an animal is matched to a new owner who can meet its needs and provide a future loving home.

We believe that it takes ALL of us to create a world that is kinder to animals: please support us in that work.
