RSPCA Lancashire East Branch was founded over 50 years ago when a group of animal lovers decided to purchase an old farm and convert it to an animal centre for sick, abandoned and abused animals rescued by the RSPCA.
Since then, generations of our animal carers have worked tirelessly to rehabilitate and rehome thousands of animals.
This work is expensive. We are a self-funding branch and rely on the generous contributions from the public to meet the rising costs of veterinary and therapeutic care and equipment. We would greatly appreciate your support.

AMERICAN XL BULLIES
The UK Government has now confirmed that American Bully XLs will be added to a list of dogs which are banned in England and Wales with effect from 31 December 2023. We understand this is hugely concerning and upsetting for owners, as well as animal welfare organisations like ourselves.
The RSPCA is opposed to this ban, which we don’t believe is effective in protecting the public. We do not agree with the legal definition of an American Bully XL announced by the UK Government but we must comply with the law and we are committed to supporting dog owners as we await more information.
