We Need A Volunteer Van Driver!

15th Jan 2016

East Lancashire RSPCA are currently looking for a volunteer driver to help them with their charity shop work for one or two mornings each week.

The charity runs  three shops which help to fund the work of the East Lancashire RSPCA animal centre in Altham. The shops in Accrington, Burnley and Clitheroe rotate stock around, to maximise the chance of all donated items being sold. Due to their volunteer driver moving overseas, an exciting opportunity has arisen for somebody to take on this enjoyable and responsible volunteering role..

The RSPCA are looking for somebody aged 25 and over, with a clean driving license, who is physically fit, and is a good communicator, as our driver will be dealing with the public and will be an ambassador for the charity.

The driver is needed for one or two mornings per week, and will be responsible for transferring stock between the three shops, as well as visiting members of the public who donate items. This role will involve heavy lifting, so applicants must be physically fit. The days are Tuesday and Thursdays, and the hours are usually between 9am and 12pm, although the times can alter dependent on workload.

This is a perfect volunteering opportunity for anybody who enjoys dealing with the public, and wants to make a vital contribution towards the work of the RSPCA here in East Lancashire. It would suit somebody who is retired, or would be perfect for somebody who is currently unemployed but keen to keep active and to keep their CV operational as well.

If you think that this volunteering opportunity is perfect for you, please phone our branch manager Ken Harrison for an informal chat about the position on 01200 425176.
